The view from Patrick's window...
...and the other half of the view.
His apartment is nice!
His stairs are very steep. These are up to his bathroom/bedroom. There were three even steeper flights to get to his apartment.
I love his kitchen!
After dropping off our bags in the apartment, we walked about a block to a little Brazilian cafe. Yum!
Tessie was exhausted.
Later that day, Patrick took me on a walking tour of Amsterdam. It took three hours and we walked over seven miles!
A canal--there are lots.
I loved the cute architecture.
In the evening we walked to an old Church for Mass, as it was a Sunday.
The picture is blurry, but you get the idea.
Then we went to a delicious Italian restaurant for dinner...
And got ice cream afterwards.
Another canal.
This was the ice cream shop. Patrick said it sells mashed potatoes in the winter!
Here is another angle from his window.
Furniture is hauled up into houses by pulleys. Hence the hook in the background.
The next day we got a train to go to Germany. I took pictures on our way out of Amsterdam.
I love the windmill!
And the cute houses!
A random cool building.
At times the Dutch landscape looked a lot like South Dakota...
All the water came in bottles like this, sparkly or still. And these are fruit gummies Patrick said we should buy.
I just learned more about Pap's apartment/life in Amsterdam than I ever found out from any other source! Thanks B! =]
